Big Red Recap:
The JV Softball team was the only team in action on Wednesday night as they hosted Margaretta and tried to beat the rain and storms. It was a high scoring offensive game as the Lady Big Red earned the win after holding a 12-11 advantage in the 5th inning when the game was called due to the weather. The JV team will be off the rest of the week and will return to action on Monday when they host Fredericktown.

Big Red Recap:
The varsity baseball and softball teams were right back in action against Mapleton for the 2nd night in a row on Tuesday night as they traveled to Mapleton. The softball team took another tough loss to the Mounties this time by a score of 11-0. The JV softball team was again able to get a few innings of play in following the varsity game. The loss drops the varsity to 1-12 overall on the season and 0-6 in conference play. They will be back in action tomorrow at St. Paul while the JV team will get a full game in tonight as they host Margaretta.
The baseball team had to come from behind for the 2nd night in a row to complete the 2 game sweep of the Mounties. After being down 3-0 after 3 innings the bats came alive for the Big Red in the top of the 4th inning as they would tie the game at 3 before adding 4 runs in the top of the 5th and two more in the top of the 6th to take a 9-5 win over the Mounties. Jarrett Burrer had himself a night at the plate going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's and scoring 3 runs. Evan King went the distance on the mound and earned the win for the Big Red as they improve to 7-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play and will get ready for two big league games with St. Paul on Thursday and Friday.
The HS track and field teams were also in action on Tuesday night as they traveled to South Central for a tri meet with Monroeville. The boys team finished in 1st place while the girls took 3rd.

Big Red Recap:
The varsity baseball and softball teams returned to conference play on Monday and opened up a busy week of conference games by hosting Mapleton. In softball, the Lady Big Red battled the high-powered Mounties for the first few innings before Mapleton erupted with a big inning in the top of the 4th to pull away to a 21-7 win over the Lady Big Red. The JV team was also able to play a few innings following the varsity game. The loss drops the varsity to 1-11 overall on the season and 0-5 in conference play and they will be right back at it tonight at Mapleton.
The baseball team jumped out to an early lead against the Mounties behind starter Lincoln Distl on the mound who pitched the first 3 innings of the game before Weston Kamann and Jarrett Burrer came in relief. Mapleton used a big 4th inning to take the lead 6-3 before the Big Red rebounded with a big bottom of the 4th inning of their own scoring 4 runs of their own to take the lead back 7-6. Mapleton tied the game at 7 in the top of the 5th before the Big Red would plate the winning run in the bottom of the 6th. Jarrett Burrer earned the win on the mound as the Big Red improve to 6-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play. They will also be right back in action tonight at Mapleton.
The MS Track and Field teams were also in action as they traveled to Lucas for a small invite. The boys placed 5th as a team while the girls took 6th. Individually Liam Means led the way in scoring for the Big Red as he took 1st in the high jump, 3rd in the 100 m dash, and 3rd in the 400 m dash. Baylee DeCapio also earned a 1st place finish in the the discuss and added a 3rd place finish in the shot put. TJ Tucker took 4th in the long jump and 5th in the 200 m dash. Myles Hicks and Macy Yetter both added 5th place finishes in the 110 m hurdles and 100 m hurdles. The boys 4x100 m relay team also brought home a 1st place finish. The MS teams will be back in action on Thursday this week hosting a home tri meet.

The HS Track and Field teams got the weekend started on Friday evening as they competed in the annual Stache Dash Invite at Buckeye Central. The boys finished in 8th place as a team while the girls took 9th place.

Also on Friday night the Lady Big Red softball teams traveled to Northwestern and the varsity took a tough 16-0 loss to the Huskies before the JV team was able to get a few innings of action following the varsity game. The Lady Big Red drop to 1-10 overall and will get back into conference play today by hosting Mapleton.
On Saturday, the varsity and JV baseball teams traveled to Shelby for a morning DH and were able to beat the rain and get both games completed. A rough 1st inning doomed the varsity as the Whippets plated 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st and then cruised to a 13-0 win over the Big Red. It was also a rough game for the JV as they fell by a 16-1 final score. The loss drops the varsity to 5-5 overall on the season as they will also return to conference play today hosting Mapleton.
The JV softball team also was able to play Saturday morning and beat the rain as they hosted Madison in a full game. They battled the Rams before falling by a 10-5 final score. They will be back in action tonight playing Mapleton at home after the varsity game.
