Happy 222nd Birthday Ohio! 🥳
Although legally Ohio became the 17th state with the February 19, 1803 act of Congress, Ohio statehood is celebrated on March 1. The date of March 1, 1803 was when the Ohio legislature met for the first time. This was retroactively made the statehood date by a 1953 Resolution of the United States Congress. - archives.gov

Big Red Recap:
The boys basketball team entered into district tournament play on Thursday night as they took on St. Mary's in the district semi finals at Shelby HS. It was not the Big Red's night as they struggled offensively all night from start to finish and trailed the Panthers wire to wire. Baskets were hard to come by early for both teams as the Panthers held a 7-5 advantage at the end of the 1st quarter, however St. Mary's found some offense in the 2nd quarter while the Big Red continued to struggle and the halftime score was 22-10 in favor of St. Mary's. The Big Red tried to cut into the lead during the 3rd quarter but could not gather much momentum and would trail 33-22 after 3 quarters. St. Mary's pulled away during the 4th quarter for the 46-25 win. The Big Red see their season come to an end with a 12-12 overall record.
