Big Red Recap:
The JV and Varsity boys basketball teams hosted Crestview on Monday night to start the final week of the regular season and it turned out to be a big night for the Big Red as both teams came away with wins over the Cougars! The JV team got things started on the right note as they jumped out to a big lead and led for most of the game and pulled away during the 4th quarter for the win. Then the varsity had upset on their mind after a close earlier in the season to the conference leading Cougars. It was a nip and tuck battle all night as both teams exchanged small leads several times throughout the game with neither team building a lead of more than a couple possessions. The Big Red used a strong defensive effort in the 2nd half coupled with some timely offense to make enough plays down the stretch on both ends of the floor to clinch the 52-49 upset win over the Cougars. The loss drops the Cougars out of a tie for 1st place in the conference leaving St. Paul alone at the top of the conference and gives the Big Red another great opportunity when St. Paul comes to PHS on Friday night for the regular season finale.

Home Basketball Week at PHS!
The Big Red girls and boys basketball teams have entered the final stretch of their seasons as both will be wrapping up regular season play this week and entering postseason mode. Both teams have several home games scheduled for this week giving Big Red fans opportunities to come out and support the Big Red at the end of the season!
The boys will play their final two games of the regular season at home and could have a say in who wins the firelands conference championship as both of the top two teams in the conference will have to go through the Big Red before winning the title. This starts tonight as the Big Red host Crestview in a rescheduled matchup with the Cougars from Saturday and then will continue on Friday night when the Big Red host St. Paul in the final game of the regular season. JV games will start at 6pm both nights.
The girls will host Crestline tomorrow night in their final regular season game while also celebrating senior night. This will be a varsity only contest starting at 6pm with senior recognition taking place right before tip-off. Then the Lady Big Red will host a sectional final tournament game on Saturday afternoon against St. Paul as the program looks for its first sectional championship in 15 years. Tip-off is slated for 12pm on Saturday.
We hope to see Big Red Nation out in full force this week taking advantage of these great opportunities to support our Big Red basketball teams at the end of their seasons!
Go Big Red!!
