SMS News! The 7th grade students placed 22nd out of 34 teams for Academic Challenge today. Way to go!

Athletic News! Last night was Senior Night for both Softball and Baseball. We would like to take this moment to recognize our Seniors! We are SO proud! Softball - Cailynn Bailey Baseball - Colton Hass and Hunter McClure Huge shout-out to the Softball team for raising $600 for Team Weston!

Athletic News! The Big Red baseball team has earned the #5 seed in the Division 7 Galion Sectional/District tournament and will host 6th seeded Ridgemont in the sectional finals on Friday May 23rd at 3pm. Please note the 3pm start time due to this being the same day as district track and sharing athletes. Admission will be charged and ticket information will be sent out next week. With a win over Ridgemont in this game the Big Red would advance to the district tournament the following week in Galion and would take on Mohawk on Thursday May 29th at 2pm.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The varsity baseball and softball teams played through the rain drops on Tuesday night as they hosted Western Reserve and celebrated senior nights at both fields. The baseball team completed the season sweep of the Roughriders with a 6-2 win behind a strong effort on the mound from Lincoln Distl and some timely hitting and baserunning. The win makes it two in a row and improves them to 11-9 overall and 8-5 in conference play. They will be back in action tomorrow at home against Mapleton rounding out conference play. The softball team bounced back from a loss to the Roughriders on Monday night with a 10-7 win on senior night as they got the offense going with several timely hits late in the game. The win puts an end to a long losing streak and improves them to 6-17 overall and 3-11 in the conference. They will head into tournament play tomorrow at Seneca East in the sectional finals.

Big Red Family! The Middle School is celebrating teacher appreciation week this week, and I wanted to personally let the Plymouth, Shiloh, and Rome communities know that they are so very fortunate to have an incredible staff from every teacher, cafeteria worker, aide, secretary, guidance team, SRO, janitor/ maintenance crew, nurse, and A.D. I have a chance to observe them all over the year, and let me tell you, I challenge anyone to find a more dedicated TEAM than the one we have here. Mr. Turson has fostered an environment that has always put your child’s well being first, and this staff goes so far beyond to do this that it would be easy to overlook because they do it daily. I want to celebrate them all! Our community should be very proud of all of them. Go Big Red - Mr Genders.

PHS News! JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Ashland University College of Nursing and Health Sciences would like to invite any junior/senior students (age 16 years or older) interested in NURSING to attend our AU One-Day Nursing Summer Camp! Dates to choose from are either Thursday, July 10, 2025 --OR-- Friday, July 11, 2025. Students (alone or with parent/guardian) are responsible for all transportation, which includes two (2) locations for the day. Note: The day begins 9:00am at Ashland College of Nursing, Mansfield (1020 S. Trimble Road) . Plan to leave the college at 11:30am to drive to the hospital location. The day ends 3:00pm at the hospital - We have 2 hospitals partnering with us, both are less than a 15-minute drive from our academic building. Use the attached QR code for more details, info, registration, etc. NOTE: Registration closes on May 30, 2025!

Elementary News! The Girls in Motion had their last session of the school year yesterday. This was the 9th year of the program, under the direction of Miss Rader. 🤩

Athletic News! Attention Golfers! There will be a meeting next Thursday 5/22 during lunch at 12:30pm for all those planning on playing golf this fall and anyone else who is interested.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The baseball and softball teams got back into action on Monday night starting off the final week of conference games for the varsity teams. The varsity teams both traveled to Western Reserve and came away with a split with the Roughriders. The baseball team picked up a commanding 6-1 win behind another strong pitching effort from Jarrett Burrer who started and pitched 4 strong innings and Bobby Bowman who came in in relief pitching 3 innings. The Big Red improve to 10-9 overall on the season and 7-5 in conference play and will be back at it hosting Western Reserve tonight. The softball team fell to the Roughriders by a 7-2 final score and fall to 5-17 overall and 2-11 in league play and will also host Western tonight. The JV softball team traveled to Mansfield Christian for their last scheduled game of the season and ended the season on a high note with a 24-8 win over the Flames.
